Bucket List Adventures

Reflection on the bucket list

Bucket list travel is relatable to sports. It’s the things you dream about doing. It’s also something you can easily put off. For example, my latest adventure to Silverton Colorado was a bucket list item that took 15+ years to accomplish. The motivating factor was a dear friend pass away.

Keys to getting motivated and checking things off your bucket list.

1. Set a date, plan it out, and commit. As a friend of mine mentioned, the easiest part is to ski, the toughest part is your commitment to get there.

2. Adventure buddies. It’s more fun when you can share the experience with others. Friendships are the sweetest influence.

3. Setbacks are part of the adventure. The challenge is to not give up hope and to remember why it’s important to you.

4. Seek out fun times. Focus on the fun and the present moment. When you do, you will discover purejoy, and times when you laugh so hard your belly hurts and you shed tears of joy.

When it’s all said and done, not only can you cross that experience off your bucket list, you will always have a memory of the adventure you took, from the early planning stages, the travel, spending time with others, supporting each other through the challenges, and high fiving each other during those epic moments!
