Learning To Connect And Come Together

"We are engineered to find one another, to love and support the other, and build community. But hat (like racism or misogyny or homophobia) drives people apart. If you think you know the entirety of someone by the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, their gender, or their class, then you cheat them of the opportunity to be heard."

- Bobby Hundreds

If we are to build a community and shift our perspective, we need to take the time to listen, learn, share, and connect.

To do this, we have to lead with empathy and compassion. This includes, putting our differences aside by agreeing to disagree. Reflecting and learning from each other. Taking ownership of our own actions. Lastly, seeing things from someone else’s perspective.

Let’s continue to learn from each other, embrace our differences and similarities, and create a community of respect and understanding.
